The altruist

a spinning hurricane
of mighty reason
comes
at the call of
the linguistic lords
to pronounce
their arrogance.

to selfless souls
their life for others
to the vulchers
life-
I prometheus
stay your mind
heroic duty
but denied rights

Pronouncing arrogance seems to be your thing today -- along with acting condescending. You should not presume to pass judgement on a life you haven't lived. Have you ever heard of Stockholm Syndrome? Domestic violence doesn't just suddenly occur and the woman hangs around. Before the firt blow is ever thrown she is so emotionally and mentally battered that the physical abuse doesn't really matter anymore. And it all happens so slowly, so gradually, that it is just like one more feather added to a burden. You never really notice it is there until somebody comes and lifts it away.

People who think like you do actually support abuse -- because you make the victim fear reaching out for help. Obviously, by your reaction to my poem, if this hypothetical woman had asked you for help, you would have told her she deserved the beating -- which is exactly the same claim the abuser makes.

I wouldn't have told her she deserved the beating, I would have told her she is just as responsible as the person beating, you cannot have an assailant without a victim. It is a circle. Which she completes, I would sit and talk with her, if she would listen, I would attempt to show her that life can be joyous, and there is so much in it. That she can be independent.

and you are right. the problem was started a long time ago, I would not support her for being a person that does not stand up for herself, I would not feel pity for her, because that is a cause of her beating, things are not just magicaly lifted away, a problem of hers can not be solved by giving to her, you cannot lift something of that nature, you can only show her how to lift it herself.
